Two very rare Patek Philippe timepieces set new records for their reference numbers. The Fall sales took place in Hong Kong.

The auction, titled: “Important Modern & Vintage Timepieces”, was held at the Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong hotel. There were 246 watches to go to the auction block that totaled more than $5,000,000 in value. Almost 80% of these watches by lot were sold and went for prices over their previously thought values by 16%.

The most extraordinary sale of the evening was the ULTRA rare Patek Philippe Ref 5104P platinum. The Patek Philippe platinum minute repeater perpetual retrograde skeleton watch, as many call it, sold for JUST under $800,000 ($799,655) after a very tense battle for this timepiece. This sale set a world record for the Patek Philippe 5104P.

Another Patek Philippe up for sale was the Patek Philippe 3939 tourbillon minute repeater. This particular watch had a special dial that was in pink gold. This watch is highly sought after by collectors and so it was originally slated to be the auction’s highest seller. This watch sold for a final price of $722,268. This was a fantastic new world record for the Patek Philippe 3939 tourbillon minute repeater with pink gold dial.

The third highest item going for sale was another stunning Patek timepiece – the Patek Philippe Ref. 6104G celestial diamond in 18K white gold with date, mean time indication, nocturnal sky chart of the Northern Hemisphere, moon phase & orbit indication, and finally, the time of the meridian passage of Sirius and moon. This beautiful watch sold for $422,622.

We look forward to seeing these beautiful Patek Philippe timepieces continue to break records as their values consistently rise as time passes. Maybe your next investment will be something you get to enjoy?

Bell & Ross recently paid tribute to the Aeronautica Militare with an iconic commemorative watch in order to mark the 30th anniversary of the illustrious TORNADO combat aircraft.

A World of Inspiration

Directly inspired by aircraft cockpit clocks, Bell & Ross instrument watches are based on four fundamental principles: readability, functionality, precision and water-resistance. Known as the benchmark for luxury watchmaking, Bell & Ross watches meet the demands of the most extreme conditions.

A Tribute to the Aeronautica Militare

Fighter planes are known to be the masters of the skies because they are sleek, stylish and powerful. In the 1980s, fighter aviation in Europe was prolific. A perfect example of this is the Panavia Tornado .

During the 1970s, the MRCA 75 (Multi-Role Combat Aircraft 1975), soon to be known as the Tornado, was jointly developed by the UK, Germany and Italy. It was designed to be at the forefront of high-performance navigation and extreme precision.

These “Warriors of the Skies” can reach Mach 2.34 (2,417 km/h) and have a range of 1,400 km. The Tornado has been described as a genuine masterpiece of technology and a legendary aircraft capable of supersonic acceleration.

These multi-purpose combat aircrafts are based in Ghedi and Piacenza and carry out recognition, defense, and attack missions for the 6th and 50th squadrons. They are an integral part of the Comando della Squadra Aerea

Inspired by the values of this exceptional aircraft, Bell & Ross is greatly honored to spotlight this aeronautic model.
