Breguet Reine de Naples Princesse was inspired by the creation of the first wristwatch by Abraham-Louis Breguet for Caroline Murat, the Reine de Naples. The watch is identified by the delicate shape of its case. Its elegant curves are an ode to femininity.
The Reine de Naples Princesse 8968 watch proclaims its own modern and stylised identity while staying true to the typical Breguet collection. This model deploys lines and spaces, depths and colours to draw the eye into the dimension of time. While retaining its egg shape, the case is curved to fit the shape of the wrist ensuring a comfortable fit.
The plain dial follows the line of the case creating an illusion of depth, which highlights the hour markers, also curved, at 12 and 6 o’clock. The gold dial has manually operated engine-turned patterns while using perspectives and contrasts to capture attention. A touch of brilliance tops off this exploit on the face of time because the crown is set with an inverted diamond while the ball attachment is decorated with brilliant-cut diamonds.
The case is an 18-carat rose gold with a finely fluted caseband. The crown is set with an inverted diamond (approx. 0,15 ct). There is an attachment set with 16 brilliant-cut diamonds (approx. 0,15 ct) to go along with the Sapphire caseback. The timepiece has a diameter of 43 x 34,95 mm and is water-resistant up to 3 bar (30m).
The dial is silvered and anthracite-coloured 18-carat gold that is engine-turned. The watches are individually numbered and signed Breguet. Applied and curved Roman numerals appear in rose gold at 12 and 6 o’clock. The Breguet open-tipped hands are in rose gold. The watch comes on a leather strap with a clasp set of 29 brilliant-cut diamonds.
