Dallas, TX — Former Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona Champion, Nick Boulle— of de Boulle, an independent jewelry salon in Dallas and Houston, has been confirmed as part of Jackie Chan DC Racing’s lineup for next month’s 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Boulle will join David Cheng, who claimed his first Le Mans podium as a member of the #37 crew twelve months ago, and Pierre Nicolet at the wheel of the team’s No. 33 Ligier JS P217 Gibson. Reigning IMSA Prototype champion Ricky Taylor will join Come Ledogar and former Le Mans GTE-Am class winner David Heinemeier Hansson at the wheel of the team’s No. 34 Ligier JS P217 Gibson, which is one of the Chinese team’s four auto-invite entries.

“To say that I am excited to be racing with Jackie Chan DC Racing at the 24 Hours of Le Mans is an understatement,” exclaimed Boulle. “Le Mans has a huge place in racing history and is one of the greatest single sporting events there is – period.”

This will mark Boulle’s first start in the French endurance classic. Sixty cars along with their drivers have been officially confirmed for this June’s 24 Hours of Le Mans at Circuit De La Sarthe. The race’s most competitive class, LMP2, features a mix of 20 Dallara, Oreca and Ligier cars, which Boulle will drive, each competing with 600 horsepower Gibson Technology 4.2L V-8 engines.

“I think the Ligier JS-P217 has made leaps & bounds with their Le Mans aero package for this race as well. Looking forward to having a good result for Jackie Chan DC Racing and representing in this racing classic.”

The Chinese racing team ascends from the astonishing victory and second place in LMP2 class and a double-overall-podium finish at Circuit de La Sarthe in last year’s race. Despite the disappointment of missing the 2017 FIA WEC championship title at the showdown in 6 Hours of Bahrain, the team strongly fought back at the 2017-18 Asian Le Mans Series clinching titles in both LMP2 and LMP3 class, which contributed to the two additional invitation for the imminent 24-hour race, on 16-17 June.

To make Boulle’s debut possible, de Boulle Motorsports partnered with several prominent companies: Concepta Labs, Dallas Auto Exchange, Hydro Carbon Exchange and Meridian Veterinary Capital. Boulle added, “I can’t wait to see what else this partnership leads to next.” In addition, to becoming a racing partner, the companies also receive a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of attending Le Mans with a VIP experience that only de Boulle could offer.

About Dallas Auto Exchange
Crockett Gambrel founded Dallas Auto Exchange after spending over a decade being immersed in the cultures of two of the area’s most prestigious luxury auto groups. The lessons learned from the strong leadership teams at these outstanding organizations helped him form a solid foundation, a servant attitude, and a strong moral compass. He excelled at sales and building relationships with clients, and he was consistently recognized for his over-the-top customer service scores. The idea for Dallas Auto Exchange started when he realized the need for a company that could fill the void that is left between the two most common types of automotive dealerships. On one end of the spectrum you have the questionable cars, hidden problems, and sub-par ethics that are often found at bargain basement stores. On the other end are the luxury dealerships that typically offer great customer service, fancy perks and quality vehicles, but typically at substantially higher prices. His vision for Dallas Auto Exchange was to provide customers with unmatched overall value by offering solid cars, outstanding customer service, honest advice, and a transparent buying experience that was actually fun. Our expansive indoor showroom is modern and impeccably clean, but it isn’t furnished with priceless works of art, or rich mahogany furniture. We prefer to pass the savings on to you.

Dallas, TX — The deBoulle Motorsports team claimed 12th place at this year’s ROLEX 24 Hours of Daytona. In only his second Prototype start, Nick Boulle joined the Prototype entry of AFS / PR1 Motorsports in their number 52, Ligier JS P217 Sports Car.
The demanding 24-hour race saw drivers from around the world take part in what was dubbed by many as the event’s most competitive running in its 56 year history. The endurance race tests both driver, team and equipment around the high banks of Daytona International Speedway as well as through the infield road course. The car itself will reach speeds close to 200mph and keep pace for the entirety of the grueling race.

The race was heavily attended with celebrities and many of the world’s most respected drivers competing in the field. Fernado Alonso’s attendance brought huge fanfare alongside Juan Pablo Montoya, Bruno Senna, Lance Stroll, Lando Norris, Paul DiResta and more. Also bringing out huge attendance was the addition of the new Acura prototype fielded by the fabled Penske Racing team.
This year the AFS / PR1 Motorsports car was driven by Nick Boulle, IndyCar regular Sebastian Saavedra, Gustavo Yacaman, as well as current WEC driver and former ChampCar driver Roberto Gonzalez.
After the team qualified in 16th position, Nick’s first stint came just as night fell over the 3.56 mile speedway road course. He drove the car for roughly 1.5 hours in what was the most treacherous portion of the race. Just over 20 minutes into his stint, rain began to fall on course. After driving on slicks in wet conditions for several laps, the team eventually pitted to change for rain tires. Minutes later, the drying track called for another pit stop as they went back to dry tires in the mixed conditions.

Nick Boulle commented after hist first stint in the LMP2 car, “Thanks to the technology in endurance racing, the cars & equipment are so good that it is truly a 24-hour sprint race. From the moment the green flag drops to the checkered flag you push the car to its absolute limits. There is no ‘saving the brakes’ or backing off because oftentimes in events like this – every second counts. You know the importance of keeping the car clean & safe, but certainly feel this even more in treacherous conditions where it is so easy to push too far.”

The team had advanced the car into the top 10 before an early morning mistake by one of Nick’s teammates sent the crew into the garages for repairs. Nick returned for three more flawless stints in the LMP2 car at the demanding circuit. And despite the time lost, Boulle & his co-drivers recovered positions through the remaining hours of the race to finish in 12th position in the Prototype class.
deBoulle Motorsports’ continued their partnership program in 2018 with an amazing crew of 20 guests from Concepta Labs, McFadden & Miller, Meridian Veterinary Capital, Nicholas Residential, and Palmares Energy. In addition, the car featured a logo from each of the companies in attendance.

Daytona Beach, FL— Nick Boulle hit the track for the first time this past weekend at the Roar Before the ROLEX 24 with his recently announced teammate lineup of Gustavo Yacaman, Sebastian Saavedra and Roberto Gonzalez. The newly formed AFS/PR1 Mathiasen Motorsports team completed three days of testing in preparation for the Rolex 24 at Daytona, the first event and crown jewel of the 2018 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

The Roar Before the 24 gives teams in the IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship the opportunity to test out their cars, engines, drivers and crew ahead of the season-opening Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona at the Daytona International Speedway road course.

The test marked the first time Boulle has been on the track since his win at the ROLEX 24 Hours of Daytona. Boulle is keen to get back behind the wheel of the AFS / PR1 Motorsports’ LMP2 car. The drivers focused on driver changes as well as doing their best to find a set up for their LMP2 race car, the #52 Ligier JS P217, and the Daytona International Speedway race track.

The 56th running of the race in 2018 will mark Boulle’s third chance to race for win at the 24 Hours of Daytona, but this year stands out as he competes in the IMSA Weather Tech SportsCar Championship’s most premier category, Prototype. The Ligier JS P217 LMP2 car meets the World Endurance Championships standards for LMP2 cars. Thanks to more than 600 horsepower produced by its 4.2 Liter V8 Gibson Technology engine, advanced aerodynamics and lightweight carbon fiber chassis, the car will reach speeds of 200 miles-per-hour.

“It felt great to be back on the banks at Daytona. The Roar Before the 24 always goes quickly, but I think we accomplished a lot. We have a few weeks to take a step back and develop a plan of attack for the Rolex 24 at Daytona. The focus now is solely on developing the car for the race with all of the data we gathered through the weekend.”

The end of the testing period is marked by a qualifying session that determines pit road and garage space selection.

The 2018 running of the Daytona 24 Hours will see the green flag on Saturday afternoon, January 27th, and finish on Sunday afternoon, January 28th after two full trips around the clock. Each year, both overall winners and class winners at this legendary and grueling 24-hour endurance race receive ROLEX Daytona timepieces in addition to the winner’s trophies. This year, de Boulle Motorsports & Nick Boulle have partnered with several prominent companies including: Clover Partners, Concepta Labs, McFadden & Miller, Meridian Veterinary Capital, Nicholas Residential, and Palmares Energy.

The 2018 IMSA Weather Tech SportsCar Championship will kick off coverage starting at Saturday January 27th at 2:30PM on FOX Sports 1 and continue through January 28th between FS1, FS2 and IMSA.tv for a full 24-hours of coverage. The FOX Sports GO app will also have 25 consecutive hours of Rolex 24 programming, with live streaming throughout North America.

ISMA CTMP Prototype

Nick Boulle’s first laps in the top category of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship came just a few weeks ago. Teamed for the weekend with David Ostella, both he and Nick would do their first ever laps in a LMP2 car just one day before racing action started at one of North America’s fastest and most demanding race circuits. Mosport is known for its huge elevation changes, high-speed corners and its ruthless nature. With mid-corner speeds as high as 150 mph and walls surrounding the entire track, no mistake goes unpunished.

The weekend started off nice and easy with Nick & David getting up to speed gradually in the Ligier JS-P217 LMP2 car as they learned the track as well as the complex systems involved in running the race car. The car features a 650 horsepower Gibson V8 engine with Cosworth electronics and suspension setup very similar to a Formula 1 car – torsion bars at the front with push-rod rear suspension. In addition, the car generates massive amounts of down force (meaning: the faster you go, the more grip becomes available!).

Nick & David progressed carefully through the weekend’s three practice sessions with an emphasis put on qualifying. On Saturday morning, the gap to the front runners and DPI factory machines dropped substantially. Nick qualified .1 second behind one of the Cadillac DPI cars and just ahead of the Mazda DPI car. The team would set off in 8th position for the race.

During the race, the #52 Prototype moved up one position as the race progressed. Boulle put in a solid double stint that amounted to more than one and a half hour behind the wheel at the demanding circuit before David Ostella took the wheel. Progressing well Ostella held on well in the treacherous wet-dry conditions until 1 lap to go. With rain on parts of the track a slight miscalculation had big consequences. After sliding through the grass and hitting the wall the car rolled violently onto its roof. David crawled out unscathed, but the incident ended the race early.

de Boulle Motorsports’ goals for the weekend were certainly accomplished given the daunting circuit and jump in terms of the LMP2 car. Given such limited track time to learn the car and the circuit before qualifying, out pacing any one of the DPI cars was a huge accomplishment. de Boulle Motorsports is working towards being back on the race track again soon and we look forward to sharing the news!

For the weekend of July 7th to 9th, Nick Boulle will step up to North American endurance racing’s most premier and fastest racing category. The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship features 4 classes of cars starting from GTD, GTLM, PC to Prototype. The Prototype class Nick will compete in features cars from manufacturers such as Cadillac, Mazda, Ligier, Oreca and Nissan that are all based upon a LMP2 car.

This will mark Nick’s first time to compete at the highest level of professional endurance motorsports in North America. Boulle will be returning to a familiar team with PR1 / Mathiasen Motorsports running the number 52 Ligier JS-P217 Gibson powered prototype. These cars also raced at the 24 Hours of Le Mans reaching speeds of up to 214mph on the straights of the Mulsanne circuit thanks to having roughly 650 horsepower.

The race will take place at the famous and often treacherous Canadian Tire Motorsport Park just outside of Toronto, Canada. The track, which is 2.5 miles long, features a long back straight and is known for having one of the fastest average speeds of any race track in North America. Thanks to its placement along massive rolling hills with blind exits from many of the fast corners, Mosport is also known as one of the most thrilling driver’s circuits on the continent.

The race will consist of 2hours and 50 minutes of racing waged around the demanding circuit. The field will consist of drivers such as Bruno Senna, Ryan Dalziel, Pipo Derani, Marino Franchitti, Jan Magnussen, and more famous names from around the globe of motorsports.

Nick most recently competed in Austin, TX at the Circuit of the Americas running in a Prototype Challenge car. Alongside his co-driver, Justin Wilson, Nick finished in 2nd place at the Advanced AutoParts SportsCar Showdown.

Nick Boulle’s debut at the 54th Annual ROLEX 24 Hours of Daytona resulted in a second-place finish in the Prototype Challenge (PC) Class. Nick Boulle, the 26-year-old son of Denis and Karen Boulle — of de Boulle, an independent jewelry salon in Dallas and now Houston— was the first retail jeweler which carries Rolex to compete in the demanding 24-hour sports car race.

The race requires four-driver teams. Rounding out the team was returning PR1 driver Tom Kimber-Smith, Robert Alon and Jose Gutierrez. The team raced in the Le Mans Prototype Challenge car. The car featured an open-cockpit and technology such as a carbon fiber chassis, carbon brakes and sequential gearbox. Weighing in at 1990 pounds, the PC car reached top speeds of around 190 mph during the 24 hour event.

The race consisted of 24 hours of straight racing waged on the legendary Daytona International Speedway. It’s the first major auto race of the year, and it brings out some of sport’s biggest names. The team completed 698 laps and 25 pits around the 3.56 mile circuit. Each driver spent about six hours crammed into the car whizzing around the track.

Boulle was the also the PC class leader during the exciting race. “Half way through the race (12 hours) we were still in first, but a small mechanical issue lost us 12 laps. We dropped down to fourth during the night,” said Boulle. The team moved back into second place. If not for a faulty $15 part, the team likely would have won.

Boulle, who had stepped away from motorsports for more than 6 years to grow his social media business, had kept his competitive spirit alive through cycling – winning multiple state championships and finishing on the podium at the collegiate national championships while racing motorcycle great, Ben Spies’ Elbowz Cycling team. When it came time for Nick to drive again and take over driver duties at the 54th annual Rolex 24, he never skipped a beat. With his dad’s love for cars, Nick was drawn to motorsports and began racing go-karts at age 12. By the time he was 20 years old studying at Southern Methodist University, Boulle had produced top results in national events and was racing as a Volkswagen Junior Driver in addition to coaching drivers in karts and racecars. “I have always loved motorsports,” he says, “and racing in the Rolex 24 Hours has turned a dream into reality.”

Meridian Realty Advisors, L.P. opted to partner with de Boulle Motorsports to promote their new community Vista del Mar, a high-rise condominium in Perdido Key, Florida. The Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona represents a huge opportunity to spread the word about the ‘Lost Key’ where Vista del Mar is being built. The LMPC car featured the logo of Vista del Mar. In addition, Boulle donned their logo prominently on his driver’s uniform.
